In the neon-lit underworld of Party Party Land, two renegade dance party gatherers, BAD DOG and HOUSE OF MINCE, decide to shake up the status quo. Tired of the mundane and hierarchical structures, they envision a utopia where mutts and aliens groove together, unfettered by the constraints of the outside world. Their mantra is simple:

LOVE COME SET ME FREE

Their sanctuary is a cavernous space, pulsing with the beats of disco-funk, hi-nrg, crunchy techno, deep, spacey and sleazy, gritty and sublime. Paying homage to their queer deity, whose spirits whisper through the speakers, urging everyone to dance like it's the last night on Earth.

In this twisted fairytale, the dance floor is a kaleidoscope of life. Mutts, with their patchy fur and infectious energy, twirl with disgrace, while aliens, with their iridescent skin and their arthropodan moves, light up the room. Here, bodies are celebrated in all their forms.

There is no VIP section, no velvet ropes. In this arcadia, everyone is a star, and the dance floor is their stage. Life in this realm echoes the time before big business, greed, and war cast long shadows over the world. It's a celebration of what once was, and a beacon of hope for what will be again.

This is a new utopia, a dreamy fairytale where our queer cult flourish in harmony. Our collective vibrations, reaching our ancestors across all worlds, current and beyond. This dance is eternal. This is just the beginning.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce we will no longer be able to go ahead with the event at White Bay Power Station. This was not a decision made lightly. However, all is not lost! We have been able to secure the underworld of the brutalist masterpiece that is 15 Broadway Ultimo. This venue will give us the capacity to deliver a production that we’re proud of and the experience that you deserve. We do need to share the circumstances that have led us to this outcome.

From the outset, we were excited about the potential of hosting our event at White Bay. However, as planning progressed, it became increasingly clear that staging the event presented challenges far beyond what we could have anticipated.

Adding to this, being classified as a "Subject Event" under NSW legislation just felt wrong. We are not a high risk event but have been classified as such due to the capacity. The forced “user pay” payment for Police and all the extra compliance costs made it financially impossible to put on an event like this in the amount of time available.

We’d like to thank and acknowledge White Bay Power Station for their support. We hope to work together again in the future once some of these challenges are resolved.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our incredible crew, who have worked tirelessly, juggling multiple tasks, concepting, designing, quoting and problem-solving at every turn. Your dedication and hard work kept us going, we’re super lucky to have you on this journey with us.

A special thank you goes out to Eventbrite ticketing, who have been a great support throughout this process and will ensure everyone is taken care of as swiftly as possible.

Finally, to everyone who bought tickets, placed their trust in us, and supported the event, your love and dedication means everything to us.

The energy, passion, and countless hours poured into planning this event are not going to waste. We have a killer line up of DJ’s from around the globe, Sound/lighting, Artists, the whole vibe.

Love Come Set Me Free will now be gathering at 15 Broadway Ultimo
